Where can I shop for Black Friday deals? Here’s what you need to know.
Ready to do some holiday shopping?
Black Friday shopping specials have already begun online and in stores and will continue through Thanksgiving week.
In the past several years, retailers have started early with Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales, offering a mix of in-store and online sales to meet changing consumer demand.
Here’s what you need to know, including store hours and return policies, before shopping Black Friday deals:
Target Black Friday deals, ads and hours
Target kicked off its Black Friday sales on Sunday in stores and online. It features a 70-inch smart TV for $299, down from $519.99, an Xbox Series
hours: Closed on Thanksgiving, opens at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.
Holiday Returns Policy: Most items purchased at Target can be returned within 90 days. For electronic and entertainment items purchased between October 1 and December 24, the refund period will begin on December 26. All electronic and entertainment items, except Apple products and cell phones, must be returned within 30 days by January 24. Apple products have a 15-day return period by January 9. Mobile phones purchased in-store, or online through Order Pickup, must be returned within 14 days by January 8.
Price matching policy: From October 22 through December 24, the retailer will match the price of an item if it sells for a lower price at Target.

Walmart Black Friday Deals, Ads and Hours
Walmart’s Black Friday deals will begin online Wednesday at 3 PM EST for all shoppers online (Walmart Plus members can access at 12 PM EST) and then in stores on Black Friday at 6 AM local time. Not all items will be available in the store. Deals include a 43-inch Smart TV for $98 and an HP laptop for $249.
What is Walmart Plus? Walmart offers memberships for $12.95 per month or $98 per year, for a chance at perks, such as early access to Black Friday deals, free delivery on orders over $35 and other discounts.
hours: Closed on Thanksgiving, opens at 6 a.m. on Black Friday.
Holiday return policy: Most items purchased between October 1st and December 31st can be returned by January 31st.
Price matching policy: For purchases made at a Walmart store, items sold on Walmart.com will be matched. Walmart price does not match prices of Walmart.com items sold outside the continental United States or competitors’ online or in-store prices. Special event prices like Black Friday or Rollback are not price matched. Purchases made on Walmart.com are not price matched.

Best Black Friday buys, deals, ads and business hours
Best Buy kicked off its Black Friday sales on Friday. Deals include a 13.3-inch Macbook Air with 8GB of memory and a 256GB hard drive for $749.99 and a 75-inch Smart TV for $579.99.
hours: Closed Thanksgiving, open at 6 a.m. Black Friday.
Price matching policy: Best Buy will match the price of any item that sells for a lower price in the store during the holiday season. Black Friday prices do not apply until Cyber Monday.
RETURN POLICY: Most gifts purchased at Best Buy between October 27 and December 30 can be returned through January 13.

Kohl’s Black Friday, Deals, Ads and Hours
Kohl’s kicked off its Black Friday deals on Sunday. Kohl’s shoppers online and in-store can also earn $10 in Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent between Sunday and Wednesday. For shoppers who go into Kohl’s stores on Black Friday, there will be sweepstakes, including prizes and Kohl’s cash. Deals include the Amazon Fire HD 8 and 32GB tablet for $59.99 and select Hamilton Beach and Black + Decker small devices for $13.49 after mail-in and 30% off.
hours: Closed Thanksgiving, open Black Friday at 5am
Price matching policy: Kohl’s may and will match a competitor’s in-store price to Kohls.com prices, which can differ from in-store prices. Kohl’s doesn’t match online competitors’ prices.
RETURN POLICY: Kohl’s accepts returns up to 180 days after the original date or purchase, with or without a receipt, with some exceptions, including premium watches and electronics, which are returned within 30 days with a receipt and most Sephora items can be returned within 60 days. For the holidays, electronics, luxury watches and Sephora at Kohl’s products purchased after November 1st can be returned through January 31st.

Macy’s black friday deals, ads and business hours
Macy’s started its Black Friday deals on Sunday and will continue through Saturday. Deals include Marc Jacobs DOT Eau de Perfume 3.3 oz for $50, a savings of $50. The retailer will also have Cyber Monday deals on Monday and Tuesday with daily flash deals on both days.
hours: Closed on Thanksgiving, open Black Friday at 6am
Price matching policy: Request a price match in-store or online if prices drop in-store or on Macys.com.
RETURN POLICY: Most purchases made in-store or online from October 2 through January 31 can be returned.

Lowe’s Black Friday, deals, announcements and business hours
Lowe’s kicked off some early Black Friday deals on October 22 and will continue through Wednesday. New Black Friday deals will start on November 23. Deals include a 7.5-foot pre-lit Christmas tree for $129 or a 24.9-foot side-by-side refrigerator for $899.
hours: Closed Thanksgiving, open Black Friday at 6am
Price matching policy: Lowe’s will price match an identical item available at the competitor’s store. For online purchases, Lowe’s asks customers to call 877-465-6937 or use online chat to match prices. The item must be available to ship to the customer’s address for in-store and online price matches.
RETURN POLICY: Many new, unused items can be returned for 90 days. There are some exceptions: Returns for major devices must be initiated within 48 hours of delivery or pickup time or if in the original, unopened box, they can be returned within 30 days. Many other items also have a 30-day return policy, including televisions, electronics, outdoor power equipment, water heaters, air conditioners, and liquid paint. Holiday items must be returned on or before the holiday, and holiday items purchased after the holiday are considered final sales.

How else can I save on holiday shopping?
Search online for coupon codes with sites and browser extensions like RetailMeNot to save some extra money. Some may not work with retailer specials. Also consider purchasing with credit and debit cards that earn points for future rewards or cash back or see if there are partner sites like UPromise, where you can earn rewards for your 529 college savings plan on qualifying purchases.
