Random: The “Pokémon-With-Guns” game on Steam is more than just copying for homework
We’ve seen quite a few Pokemon clones over the years, but very few of them were, well, outside like In the world, a creature collecting RPG… with guns. Well, it launched in Early Access on Steam today.
Originally revealed at Indie Live Expo 2021, Palworld has everything you’d expect from a Pokémon knockoff: catching, fighting, suspiciously similar character models, and sweatshops. You know, all the standard features.
The hook here is that some
Pokemon Colleagues They have weapons. And so do you. We’d be lying if we said it didn’t look great. We’d also be lying if we said there’s any chance TPC and Nintendo would allow something like this anywhere near the Switch.
This does not mean that it is everyone Pokemon inspired. A quick look at the new trailer (at the bottom of this article) gives more than enough Legend of Zelda, Monster hunter And Fortnite emotes too. Oh, originality!
If, while watching the trailer, it struck you how similar the models are TRUE Pokemon, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Palworld comes from publisher and developer Pocketpair — the team that launched it Definitely not inspired by Breath of the Wild Title Craftopia Dating back to 2020. From legally distinct “Bokoblins” to landscapes that “don’t look that much like Hyrule…”, Craftopia had it all, and Palworld seemed to have it, too.
Fortunately, the developer was very clear in explaining the nature of this game It is not a scam But something more real. This shouldn’t be what we’re looking for in a game, but given some of the “quality” we see in the eShop, we suppose it’s become necessary to clarify this.
As the old saying goes: If it ain’t broke, add Totoro with a gun.
