OpenAI is integrating ChatGPT into Canva to boost its AI competitiveness

Leveraging the vast and rapidly evolving social marketing space, OpenAI has unveiled a Canva plugin for the popular ChatGPT chatbot. This strategic move aims to make the process of creating visual elements such as logos, banners, and more simpler for companies and entrepreneurs.

OpenAI says this latest integration could revolutionize how users create visuals, providing a streamlined, easy-to-use approach to digital design.

Before this plugin was introduced, using Canva with ChatGPT was a rather complicated process, requiring users to do a lot of manual work. However, the newly launched plugin makes it easy to create new visuals with just a few clicks, a development that could enhance user interaction with the platform.

To take advantage of this feature, users must run ChatGPT on their browser and locate the “Plug-in Store” in the Plug-in section. Here, the Canva plugin can be easily installed.

Once installed, users can head to the main ChatGPT window and select “Canva” from the plug-ins section.

In the chatbot’s prompt box, users can describe the visuals they’d like to create, with prompts such as, “I’m an AI enthusiast and active on Twitter. Create a banner for my account.” This will generate a menu of visuals from which users can choose their preferred option, edit it in Canva, and download it directly to use as needed.

This integration is currently exclusive to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, who charge a monthly fee of $20. This subscription gives access to the Canva plugin, and also allows users to use the updated GPT-4 large language model, which is efficient in creating long content and accepting images as input.

decryption And I tested the feature, and the results were… nothing short of amazing. This has given us the template for our new logo. what do you think?

Maybe we’re not as good at speed engineering as we thought?

In the fiercely competitive AI sector, OpenAI is working hard to expand ChatGPT’s capabilities to stay ahead of the race – without publicly participating in GPT-5 training. This set of updates and integrations comes in response to increasing competition from other powerful models such as Claude AI, which can handle up to 100,000 contextual tokens and read PDFs, and most importantly, Google’s Bard, which is also preparing to implement its own plugin system.

OpenAI’s initiative to integrate Canva with ChatGPT aligns with its broader strategy to enhance chatbot capabilities, making it a versatile tool that meets diverse user needs. Before expanding its plug-in store, OpenAI launched a web browsing feature with Microsoft Bing, but had to remove it after users discovered it could be used to access paywalled content.
