MLF cancels the first day of the Abu Garcia College National Fishing Tournament due to high winds and inclement weather

Major League Fishing (MLF) announced today that the first day of the 2024 Abu Garcia College Fishing Championship presented by the YETI National Championship at Lake Toho has been canceled due to high winds and inclement weather.

The full field of 138 teams will compete on Wednesday, January 10 and Thursday, January 11, and the winner will be determined by the heaviest two-day cumulative weigh-in.

Notes:
Anglers will launch at 7:30 a.m. ET on Wednesday and Thursday from Big Toho Marina, located at 69 Lakeview Drive in Kissimmee, Florida. Weigh-ins will be held at the Marina starting at 3:30pm and will be broadcast live daily. Fans are welcome to attend and encouraged to follow the action online through “MLF Live” live broadcasts and daily coverage on MajorLeagueFishing.com.

Hosted by The Kissimmee Experience, 15y The annual National Fishing Championship will feature 138 teams of the nation’s best college anglers competing for a $43,500 prize package, including a new 115-horsepower Phoenix 518 Pro boat, an additional $10,000 and a chance to advance to the 2024 Toyota Championship Series and 2025 REDCREST – The most prestigious tournament in the MLF – for jackpots of $235,000 and $300,000 respectively.

Both the winning and runner-up team members at the 2024 Abu Garcia National College Fishing Championship will qualify for the 2024 Toyota Series Championship, where they will compete as professionals for a grand prize of up to $235,000. The highest-placed team member in the Toyota Series Championship will advance to REDCREST 2025 to compete against the world’s best professionals for the sport’s top prize of $300,000.

Abu Garcia College Fishing Presented by YETI Teams compete in nine regular season qualifying tournaments across the country. The top 12% of teams from each qualifying event qualify for the following year’s Abu Garcia College Fishing Championship presented by YETI National Championship.
