Madagascar is located off the coast of East Africa in the Indian Ocean, and is the second largest island country in the world. It covers an area of 592,800 square kilometers. The country can be divided into three parallel longitudinal physiological zones. The coastal strip to the east, the central plateau, and the western areas of low plateaus and plains.
East coast of Madagascar It has a narrow, steep escarpment running along its length, and the island’s remaining tropical rainforest is located here. Along the island’s western coast, mangrove swamps give way to deeper bays. Major rivers of Madagascar Includes Mananara, Manjuro Sambirano, Mahagamba, Betsibuka, Manya, North and South Mahavavi, Manjoki, Onilahi, and Ikoba; Lakes include Alaotra, Kinkuni Lake and Ihotri Lake.
Isalo and Masoala National Parks It can be found in the southern and northeastern parts of Madagascar. Both parks are home to some of the rarest animals, birds and animals on the island. Including the ever-famous lemurs that can only be found in Madagascar.

Antananarivo is the largest city in the country as well as the country’s capital. This sprawling city can be found in the Antananarivo region.

It is located in the southern and eastern hemispheres. The island of Mauritius and Reunion (territories of France) are located east of Madagascar. To the northwest are the French territories of Mayotte and the island of Comoros.
