How to use ship builder in starfield
Using a ship builder is something you can do starfield Right after getting your ship, the only thing you need to do is find someone who deals in ship services. Fortunately, this should be pretty easy, as it can get Look for ship services signs near where your ship lands at most large locations. For example, I found a ship service booth in both New Atlantis and Akela City right next to the landing pad.

Once you locate a Ship Service booth or building, you will need to speak to a Ship Service Technician who is located at that location. When you talk to them, you have two options here such as repairing your ship, but the one you want to use to get to the shipbuilder is “I want to view and edit my ships” option. When you get to the next screen, you will need to keep an eye on the buttons at the bottom of the screen, one of these should be labeled Shipbuilder, and then you will need to press the corresponding button to enter Shipbuilder. On Xbox, this button is the X button on the controller by default, for example. After that, you will be inside the ship maker and will be able to build your own ships in it starfield.
Find your way around the ship builder
Shipbuilder in starfield It’s actually incredibly detailed, but here’s a quick rundown of all the things you’ll need to know to get started with shipbuilding. First things first, if you want to add a piece to your ship, hover over an empty area and press the A button, this will allow you to select a piece to put into the builder. From here, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from, so make sure you know what you’re buying before you put it on your ship.
One tip here: I personally wanted a way to upgrade my weapons etc on my ship as my first purchase, and to do that I had to head to the ‘Vault’ and then select the room I wanted to use using left and right on the D-pad, since the bars are under the names They represent different types of rooms that you can get with these items. So make sure you get the right room before you buy, or else you might have to rebuild your entire ship when you realize you bought the wrong room, which I had to do.
Other tips
If you make a mistake in the shipbuilder, you can also undo your actions, as well as redo them. This is useful to see if you prefer one design or another, or to simply fix a mistake.
Aside from that, the only piece of advice I would look for is Check Flight. This system within the shipbuilder is the way you can verify that your ship is able to fly starfield. This can tell you some issues with your ship, such as it’s too heavy to move quickly, or you forgot to attach modules to your ship, or your gravity engine isn’t strong enough to make this ship configuration. Be sure to keep an eye on them, they are very helpful in telling you how to solve these problems if you encounter any.
