Experts say incorporating three-minute exercises into your day could be the key to smoothing your fitness and improving health.

Nutritionist Natalie Fader, from Canada, explained how ‘exercise snacks’ – a quick routine of three to five exercises done for a few minutes – can provide a range of health benefits.

Ms Fader has tried out the latest fitness trends herself, claiming that her body shape is actually changing and that she is able to hold a plank for three minutes instead of 30 seconds.

‘For all the people who say ‘I don’t have time to exercise’ listen up! “It turns out that if we do these small, short exercises randomly throughout our day, it pays big dividends,” Ms. Fader wrote on Instagram.

“You’re building muscle which has major benefits like improved sleep, hormone regulation, improved mood/mental state, etc.”

I tested this theory exactly one month ago. Ms. Fader added that between sessions with my clients I eat three to five snacks for exercise.

Throughout the workday, I alternated between planks, wall sits, squats, leg raises, and sit-ups to reap the health benefits.

“I did the one workout for the entire song and then continued with my day until I could eat my next workout meal. Some days I did all five, and other days I only did a couple,” she continued.

“Push? My body shape is changing, my clothes are starting to look different, and my plank time is increasing!”

“I used to do four-to-five-minute planks a few years ago. I stopped working out as much as I used to about a year ago and noticed I could only get into 30-second planks. I hit the three-minute mark today.

The movements performed are proper body weight exercises that activate the core muscle groups.
