Join the City Parks Department for lively Zumba classes, learn the art of fly fishing with the Urban Park Rangers, or see a special showing of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” at the St. George Theater – and so much more!

zumba / February 17, from 9 to 10 am

Join NYC Parks for Zumba, a dynamic fitness class that blends Latin, international, and popular music! Enjoy the energy and excitement in the aerobics room at Greenbelt Recreation Center on Saturday. Get ready for a fun-filled session of cardio and interval training set to energetic beats that will give your heart and muscles a great workout.

Introduction to fishing lures and lines / February 18, 10 to 11 a.m

Join Urban Park Rangers and the Anglers Conservation Society for an introduction to the art of fly fishing. Learn about different types of lures, lines, and how to make your own artificial flies. Get ready to fall in love with fly fishing! Register on the Parks Department website before noon on Friday, February 16.

Location: HH Biddle House in Conference House Park, Tottenville

It’s my park at Liotti Ikefugi Stadium / February 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m

This season, he volunteered with the Youth Health Organization to clear debris at Liotti Ikefugi Stadium. There will also be an opportunity to create pine cone bird feeders.

Jukebox Jam with Walter Rutledge / February 18, at various times

Celebrate Black History Month with choreographer and dancer Walter Rutledge. Embark on a musical journey through the distinctive sounds and dances of African American artists. Shake and move to hit songs from the 1940s to the present, paying tribute to Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Chubby Checker, Michael Jackson and Beyoncé. You can come for workshops at noon, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Purchase tickets through the Staten Island Children’s Museum website.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone / February 18, 3 p.m

Join the fun at St. George’s Theater for a special screening of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” as part of the “Best on the Big Screen” film series! Before the film starts, enjoy a wonderful pre-screening organ music performance by Ian Fraser at 2:30 p.m. Buy tickets via Ticketmaster.
