Fix #5 is available for Baldur’s Gate 3 with chatty Minthara, PS5 fixes and more
More Baldur’s Gate 3 fixes have leaked from the depths of developer Larian Studios’ ongoing patch factory, and this latest update – officially known as Hotfix #5 – addresses some previously acknowledged Minthara progression issues, as well as brings a number of improvements specifically targeting the release of The newly released PlayStation 5.
Starting with Minthara, fix #5 aims to address some weirdness behind the scenes that was blocking certain lines of its dialogue, as well as preventing player-character romances from progressing in Chapter 3. There has been some concern in the community, you may recall that Minthara was A victim of last-minute content cuts to meet the changing deadline for Baldur’s Gate 3 – but Larian has instead blamed her silence on something wrong, promising an imminent fix, which, now, hopefully will bring back all the missing Minthara content.
“This hotfix addresses a bug that was blocking access to some Minthara lines of dialogue, including some of your buddies’ hot shots about your decision to date the ruthless Oath of Revenge,” Larian explains in today’s release notes. If the approval is high enough, your romantic relationship with Minthara will progress in Chapter 3. This unlocks many new dialogues allowing you to explore and deepen the relationship, discovering more details about Minthara’s backstory. Besides many lines of interactive dialogue, there are Many other non-interactive voice-line dialogues are available with Minthara as a romantic partner.”

Elsewhere in hotfix #5, there are fixes that address crashes and bans, as well as multiplayer, UI, and various gameplay and performance issues. There’s even – in a throwback to the look of the game that previously bought us missing gnome panties and wrong wings – a fix for masking unintentional nipple slip when nudity filtering is enabled.
For PlayStation 5, Hotfix #5 brings three fixes for the newly released console version of Baldur’s Gate 3: one that addresses an issue causing game audio to stop working, and one that fixes a graphical issue affecting HDR TVs when level calibration has been set HDR black at 0, and finally, fixed a crash that could occur when opening the on-screen keyboard.
The full release notes for today’s hotfix – which follows the big patch 2 released last week – can be found on Steam. Larian has already confirmed that a number of other highly requested features, including the ability to change a character’s appearance mid-campaign, will be on the way soon.
