It’s a quieter week on the economic front, with the stock market closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving and a half-day of trading on Friday.

The highlights of the short week are the minutes from the Federal Reserve’s meeting on Tuesday afternoon. The minutes are expected to provide insight into the Fed’s thinking on future interest rates.

Stock market today: Dow Jones rises

On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.6%, while the S&P 500 rose 0.7%. The Nasdaq Composite Index, which is dominated by technology stocks, advanced 1.1%.

Electric car giant Tesla (TSLA) rose 0.55% on Monday, while stock market leader Nvidia rose 2.3%. Meanwhile, technology icons in the Dow Jones apple (Apple) and Microsoft (MSFT) is trading higher on the stock market today, with AAPL stock up 0.9% and Microsoft stock up 2.05%.

Before the opening bell on Tuesday, Dow Jones futures, S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures were little changed versus fair value. Remember, overnight movement in Dow Jones futures and elsewhere does not necessarily translate into actual trading in the next regular stock market session.

On Monday, the 10-year US Treasury yield fell to 4.42%. Meanwhile, oil prices rebounded, with WTI futures closing near $78 per barrel.

Tesla shares

Tesla stock rose 0.55% on Monday, with shares still facing strong resistance around the 50-day line after reclaiming the 200-day line last week.

TSLA is down about 20% from its 52-week high.

Dow Jones leaders: Apple, Microsoft

Two Dow Jones stocks are in the Magnificent Seven zone, apple (Apple) and Microsoft (MSFT), trading higher during today’s stock market trading.

Apple shares rose 0.9% on Monday, their highest level since August 5. Shares are rising above the early entry level at 182.34, as they continue to track consolidation that has a buy point at 198.23.

Microsoft stock rose 2.05% on Monday, reaching an all-time high of 378.87. The stock is directly in a buy range above the 366.78 buy point of the cup base. In recent weeks, shares have risen above the early buy level of 346.20.

Early Monday, the company announced that former OpenAI head Sam Altman will join Microsoft to lead a new advanced research team dealing in artificial intelligence.
