Detroit Lions Injury Labels: Kalief Raymond is out vs. Bucs, 2 questionable

The Detroit Lions announced their injury rankings ahead of their matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round of the 2023-24 NFL playoffs. The Lions are still very healthy late in the season, but there are some injuries that could force Detroit to adapt.

Let’s jump.

Raymond was injured in Week 18 and has been unable to find the field since. While he is making strong progress, he will miss the second straight playoff game. Look for the Lions to distribute their offensive snaps among their top three receivers and Donovan Peoples-Jones, who will also take over Raymond’s punt return duties.

Laporta was able to work his way through the injury last game, and while he was somewhat limited in training this week, he is expected to be ready to play on Sunday.

Houston was removed from injured reserve and placed on the active roster Thursday but that does not guarantee he will be available for Sunday’s game.

“We still have to gauge if we feel like he’s going to be ready,” coach Dan Campbell said. “I know this, he’s better. He’s much better this week than he was last week. That’s the progression of it, isn’t it? Every week, he should start getting his legs under him, and feel good about it. We have to decide whether we believe Really, if he were to leave, would we have a production that was commensurate with who we were sitting in?

Last week, the Lions kept just four of their six players active on game day, so we’ll likely have to wait until Sunday before we know if Houston will play.

Not listed with injury label

  • TE Brock Wright (hip)
  • C Frank Ragnow (toe/back/knee/palm)
  • LB Alex Anzalone (Shoulder/Ribs)
  • DB Bryan Branch (Knee)
  • S Kirby Joseph (knee)

Wright continues to trend in the right direction and not being classified as an injury is a very positive step. His veteran presence will be needed.

Ragnow’s weekly routine continues, and once again it is paying off as he will be ready to go into the divisional round of the playoffs.

Anzalone, Branch and Joseph suffered injuries against the Rams, but it appears those limitations won’t keep any of them from playing this weekend.
