Despite the Titanium body and new USB-C port, the camera upgrades on the iPhone 15 will be the highlight of the Apple event.

Apple is expected to introduce a slew of changes with the launch of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models. The standard iPhone 15 models will receive their share of improvements over the iPhone 14 but will still lag behind the “Pro” models. The company plans to include exclusive features for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Aside from the design and build materials, the company plans to significantly improve the camera hardware on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models.

The iPhone 15 camera will be the highlight of the “Wonderlust” event as major upgrades are expected over the standard and “Pro” models.

It was previously reported that Apple plans to include a new Periscope lens in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new lens will allow for improved zoom capabilities that will better compete with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, note that Apple will also upgrade the camera more aggressively on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro. According to a new report published by the Taiwanese research firm trendforceThe camera upgrades will be the “star of the show” at the Apple event.

The report also indicates that camera upgrades will be an important factor that will encourage users to upgrade to the latest models. However, the new build material will also provide a slightly different look than the stainless steel found on the “Pro” models. Currently, the frame around the iPhone 14 Pro is highly glossy, giving users a mirror-like finish. We’ve previously heard that the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with a grade 5 titanium finish, which provides a smooth, non-reflective look. However, the periscope camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max will also be a major factor.

Additionally, these camera upgrades are not limited to the iPhone 15 Pro models, as the standard models are set to receive significant upgrades as well. It was previously reported that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature a stacked camera sensor from Sony that will be available in the “Pro” models next year. The new camera sensor will capture more light, allowing standard iPhone 15 models to perform better in dark scenarios.

With the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s periscope lens capable of optical zoom from 5x to 6x and the iPhone 15’s stacked camera sensors, the devices are sure to attract a lot of new buyers. At the Wonderlust event scheduled for September 12th, the iPhone 15 camera will likely be the highlight of the announcement. In addition to this, the company is also looking to introduce USB-C on the entire iPhone 15 lineup which can provide faster data transfer and charging speeds.
