Days of Spring 2024 – just one month away!

Up to $225,000 in cash and prizes sponsored by the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes will be awarded at the 2024 Spring Mack Days fishing event on Flathead Lake. Nine weeks of lake trout fishing will begin on Thursday, March 14y It ends on Saturday, May 11y. It is a hunter’s best dream. Fish Flathead Lake for as many days as possible. Anglers can choose their fishing days – some fish one, two or multiple days, and others attempt to fish every day of the event. Every lake trout delivered gives anglers a chance to win sweepstakes prizes that start at $2,000 and go up to $100 plus there are many other categories to qualify for. Bonus amounts are awarded to every angler of eleven or more entries. The amounts rise as total entries rise. There are trout tagged for $10,000, (3) $5,000, and (6) $1,000 as well as more than $9,000 with tags ranging from $100 to $500. One of the $1,000 tagged trout was sponsored by Bretz RV and Marine of Missoula. You can fish every day from Monday to Sunday. There are different categories for entries from Monday to Thursday and entries from Friday to Sunday. Fishermen can donate their catch to be processed or they can choose to keep their catch. The daily limit for Flathead Lake is 100 trout under 30 inches long or 99 trout under 36 inches long, which may qualify for the largest and heaviest lake trout over 36 inches long. Must weigh 20 pounds or more. The $500 prize is sponsored by Bretz RV and Marine of Missoula. Entries are being accepted until the last day of the event but we encourage anglers to enter and be eligible for one $200 prize to be chosen beginning early March 13.y Deadline – Entries.

Mack is not up and running at this time and will not be until the end of the event, so all updates and announcements must be made via email and news articles. We encourage participation in this event for anyone who loves fishing! Get out there and test your lake trout fishing skills and maybe get a winning fish or a winning lottery entry fish at the end of your fishing line. All it takes is one lake trout entered to qualify for one of the many prizes. The CSKT program’s goal for the Mack Days tournament fishery on Flathead Lake is to slowly reduce the lake’s smaller trout population in order to increase the native trout and western slopes populations. The goal is no To completely eliminate lake trout populations, but to find a better balance between recreational fisheries that rely largely on lake trout, native bull trout, and the healthier western slopes population. Be sure and know how to identify local fish.
