Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon just got its easy mode mod on PC
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon now has an easy, casual mode on PC, thanks to a mod that has made mechanical design and gameplay more forgiving, and rewards more generous.
As reported by Eurogamer, the EZ-Core prototype posted on the NexusMods website changes key aspects of the Armored Core 6’s mechanical design process, which would normally place significant limits on the parts you can use based on their weight and power requirements.
The EZ-Core reduces this burden by reducing the power and weight loads by half, making it easier for struggling gamers to build a relatively powerful air conditioner. It also increases the amount of initial ammo for each weapon by 300 percent.
The effective range of weapons has also been increased by 300 percent, which means that rounds fired from your weapons and those of your enemies are much less likely to ricochet harmlessly. This mod also increases the amount of Credits earned for successfully completing both Standard Missions and Arena Battles by 200 percent, and adds new camera options, along with the ability to make maneuvering with boosts more energy efficient.
However, the creator of the mod warned players not to use the unofficial version of the game in multiplayer for fear that it might lead to a ban. While Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is a completely different beast compared to other FromSoftware titles like Elden Ring, it still packs the same punch that players have come to expect from the studio led by Hidetaka Miyazaki.
The frantic nature of the game combined with the lack of indomitable frames led many players to have a hard time against the early bosses, including Balteus from Chapter One, capable of launching a kaleidoscope of missiles that at first might seem impossible to avoid. From there, things get a lot more intense, which will make modding a welcome prospect for players who need a hand to advance further in the dystopian world of Armored Core 6.
In our IGN 8/10 review, we said that every sortie in Armored Core 6 “is a satisfying combat puzzle to solve thanks to slick mission design, intense boss encounters, and an incredibly wide selection of weapons and parts,” which has held our attention for 15 years . hour drive and beyond.
