The Brazilian national football team has dropped Manchester United star Anthony from its roster after fresh allegations of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend.

Authorities in Brazil are investigating the allegations and a complaint has been lodged with Greater Manchester Police.
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement that it was aware of the allegations and “investigations are continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding this report”.
Anthony, 23, denied the allegations and called them “false” in a post on his social media, according to ESPN.
“Out of respect for my fans, friends and family, I feel compelled to speak out about the false accusations to which I have been the victim,” he wrote.
He added, “From the outset, I have dealt with this case seriously and respectfully, and provided the necessary clarifications to the police authority. The police investigation is taking place under the guise of justice, and therefore I cannot publish its content. However, I can confidently say that the accusations are false, and the evidence that has already been presented and what will be presented shows that I am innocent of the accusations made.”
Authorities in Brazil are looking into four alleged incidents reported by Cavallin in June, according to the Daily Mail.
In an article published on Monday by Brazilian website UOL, Cavalin went into new detail about what happened between the DJ, influencer and Brazilian soccer star.
Cavalin told the outlet, according to the Daily Mail, that Anthony repeatedly put her in a car and attacked her while she was pregnant in June 2022 while they were on vacation in Brazil.
In another incident, she alleged during the interview that after Anthony joined United from Ajax – a professional Dutch football club – another assault took place on 15 January.
“I don’t remember exactly who the fight was, but it was someone I’d been with for years,” Cavalin told UOL. “He punched me in the chest and my silicone implant flipped over. Then I came to Brazil to have surgery to change my prosthesis. “I didn’t mean to hurt you, it was accidental, it wasn’t a punch, I just shoved you, I just held you against the wall,” he said.
She then alleged that on May 8, Anthony threatened her with a glass and, as she tried to defend herself, cut her finger.
Cavalin said she returned to Brazil after that.
“On that last day (May 8), it was very dangerous. I was really afraid that I wouldn’t be able to get out of the house,” she said.
