From a Norman Rockwell painting to an SNL skit in 2.2 minutes. Just another scene in my life.

I found this post I had written but never published from two years ago, and since it made me laugh, I thought I would share with you today.

Recently while visiting my son …………..

My son and I were enjoying a beautiful summer afternoon, lounging around in the sun with my Granddaughters, the baby in her stroller sleeping , me sitting in a chair, my son  laying in the grass with his face propped up in his hands ,my two-year old granddaughter sitting right next to him taking bites of spaghetti and then leaning over and kissing Daddy’s face.  Spaghetti kisses

My son says about the two-year old daughter:  “She has such fine hair.”

Me:  ” Yes, well so do I . Fine hair isn’t bad, you can make it straight, you can make it  curly, you can make it wavy, you can create it to be whatever you want!”

My son: ” Yea, I suppose it’s better than super thick coarse hair….I don’t want her growing up with  an unruly bush.

DEAD SILENCE from both of us……………..

Hysterical fits of  laughter from both of us, while him  stuttering to say ” That is not, not, not what I meant!”

Me:  “I could never be a parent in this day and age, all the  new things you have to worry about with your kids,  back in our day, a bush was just a bush.”
